In the capital of the Empire, the "château" in Provençal-Gothic style, was designed in 1881 by engineer Adolpho Del Vecchio. In September 1893 Revolt was the scene of the Navy, where
 large part of the Brazilian fleet rebelled against the government of Marshal Floriano Peixoto. Since 1913 was delivered to the Navy of Brazil. In the Fiscal 1930 Island was connected to the Snake Island transforming them in two twin islands. Since 1998 has become open to the public. It has received many improvements, restorations and a sophisticated lighting.

The tickets can be purchased on visiting days, from 11am.
Does not work on the following holidays: January 1, Carnival, Good Friday, All Souls Day, 24, 25 and 31 December.
